Justyna Latek
is a multidisciplinary artist with undegraduate degrees in Art History
and Visual Arts and a graduate degree in Design. She is currently
enrolled in the graduate diploma in Computer Science at Concordia
University in Montreal where she is a researcher at the Topological
Media Lab. She works in photography, video, interactive and generative
video and immersive installation.
She has obtained grants from CALQ (Conseil des Arts et des Lettres
du Québec) and CIAM (Centre Inter-universitaire en Arts Médiatiques),
and her work has been co-produced by Videographe and Daïmon (artist
run centers in Quebec.) Her work has been shown in Canada, the United
States, France and Spain.
She wants to create moments of suspensions that barely touch memory,
to reconfigure space in a way that blends the senses. Currently her
research is articulated around minimal states of perception in immersive
environments.
