Joan Frank
's book of stories Boys Keep Being Born (University of Missouri
Press, 2001) was a finalist for both the Bay Area Book Reviewers'
Award and the Paterson Fiction Award. Her first novel Miss Kansas
City, has won the Michigan Literary Fiction Award and will appear
from the University of Michigan Press in August 06. Her novella The Great Far Away will be published by The Permanent Press
in February 2007. Her stories appear in numerous journals and anthologies.
She is a MacDowell and VCCA Fellow, Pushcart Prize- and Best of
the Press nominee, and winner of the Iowa Writing Award and Emrys
Fiction Award. She lives in Santa Rosa, California. |
