Nicolas Barrié
lives in Paris and his latest videos are experiments in narrative
forms and collaborations with contemporary writers whose work lends
itself to filmic reconstitution. Barrié considers his work to be literary
video-essays. The French musician Fabrice Coulon composes the ambient
soundracks of his films. "Of Civil War" the first of several video-works
based on the poetry of Jean-Michel Espitallier. Barrié has shown his
work in La galerie du jeu de Paume in Paris, the Cinematheque in Toulouse, and at the Contemporary Art Center in Albi.
