Philip Brady
is the author of two books
of poetry, Forged Correspondences and Weal, winner of the 1999
Snyder Award from Ashland Poetry Press. His memoir, To Prove
My Blood: A Tale of Emigrations & the Afterlife is forthcoming
from Ashland in 2003. His poetry has won a Thayer Fellowship
from New York State, four Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists
Fellowships, and residencies in the US, Ireland, Scotland, Spain
and the Czech Republic. His work has appeared in College English,
Poetry Northwest, the Journal of Irish Literature, the Laurel
Review, and many other journals. He has taught at the University
of Lubumbashi in Zaire and University College Cork in Ireland.
Co-director of Etruscan Press and Poetry Editor of Artful Dodge,
he teaches creative writing and directs the Poetry Center at
Youngstown State University.
