Colena Corbett is obsessed with sounds and the music of a region. She wants to preserve what she is losing. She has studied poetry at the Split Rock Arts Foundation at the University of Minnesota, the Hurston-Wright Foundation at American University, Kentucky Women Writers' Conference, Callaloo and the University of South Carolina. Her work has been published in Jasper, The Poetry Blog, Home Is Where: An African American Anthology of Poetry from the Carolinas and Folio. She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her family.
